Juliana Kwambukha, at nine years old was scared and influenced by Muslim neighbors to join their faith because of the fearful stories they told her about hell and being tormented. But it didn’t fill the hole in her heart but only made her feel more alone especially after the death of both her parents. There existed a longing in her heart that she did not understand, needed to be filled or could not explain so she returned to the protestant church. No one could help her. She did not know who to turn to. The emptiness in her grew as she got older.
Then she heard about a man called Jesus Christ who you can have a personal relationship. One of the Christian girls at her school led her to Christ and in tears she accepted Christ before her fellow students. From that point on her life changes even with how other family members treated her.
After graduating from secondary school she was unable to go to university. But what man failed to do Jesus did it for her. He became a father especially after the loss of her parents, a friend, comforter, joy giver, provider, her peace and confident. No one accepted her, but “He did.” It is through Him that she gained favor before her uncle who once chased her from his home to accept her again and help her.
Without Jesus she says “I could not be where I am today. I bless Him, worship Him for what I am today. Thank you for reading my testimony.” Juliana has completed an internship with World Vision and the Red Cross.
Each term Juliana needs $1,700 to cover all his tuition, fees, food, lodging and all incidentals. She is scheduled to graduate in October of 2012 with a Bachelors Degree in Social Work and Social Administration at Uganda Christian University. Won’t you join his scholarship team?
