The Rock is about Biblical financial freedom and the village of Bouye Kenya is on its way to achieving a different way of life. In January Pastor Peter Otieno and his wife Millicent along with Bishop Paul Oselu and his wife Perez of Deliverance Church approached The Rock about some exciting plans. As a team we began researching a self sustaining commercial agriculture project, a preschool, a home for orphans and several business/training programs such as tailoring, welding and carpentry. A new thing is beginning as the leadership learns about developing income and expense cash flows, risk management, local fundraising as we partner together to reach our common vision. The Bouye committee has one of the Rock businessmen Daniel Omondi on it and this has helped set clear expectations about the planning and implementation of each project. The preschool began in January with village members assisting with funds along with the Rock and parent's tuition and fees. The Rock start up funds helped them begin but now they are managing and funding the preschool from the income it is producing. In March we begin plowing four acres of land to implement the agriculture program. When we have income enough from the projects to support a home for children on a monthly basis we will assist Bouye in building a home. The community is excited and the Rock Kingdom Builders in Kisumu have volunteered to provide the labor, the land has been donated and The Rock will be raising funds for the construction. Join us by bringing a team to Kenya or having your cell group or church participate financially in this exciting project.
