A Dream To Fly

Nathan Lewis Gawaya has a dream of being a commercial airline pilot. He loves sports and has held leadership positions in high school as a prefect. Nathan loves to volunteer at church whether it is a conference, crusade or youth ministry.

His pastor Yiga Lawrence says “he is hardworking and punctual and has enough Bible knowledge to boast his work.” Nathan shared that ”his mother used to tell him about Christ as a young boy and he trusted Jesus 13 years ago.”

Through the years Nathan says his faith has been tested “especially in times we had in the village when the family was persecuted for being believers.” Through serving Christ, I’ve developed a passion to help the disadvantaged children and I hope to set up a Christian children’s ministry to do something for them as a way of showing my appreciation to the Lord.

The East African Civil Aviation Academy in Soroti, Uganda has admitted him for this term February 2008. The course is an integrated one involving both flying and theoretical studies and he will eventually be certified to fly for commercial airlines such as Kenya Air.

We are told Kenya Air will be retiring some pilots in the next couple of years so openings for young pilots are coming available. Please contact us if you would like to assist Nathan with his dream to be a pilot and help children needing hope.
