House on The Rock for Kids

Since its inception, the House of Hope in Kabale Uganda for needy kids has been closely aligned with The Rock Kingdom Capital Outreach. Now, the home launched by Rock board members Yvonne Pickens and Mark and Margaret Noblin has officially become a part of The Rock.

One Rock university student has moved in to the home to tutor the younger students and another businessman trained and funded by The Rock helped the kids in the home launch a sweater weaving business to move them closer to the goal of self-sustainability in five years.

Bringing the home under The Rock closes the loop for lifelong discipleship, equipping and accountability with the new name House on The Rock. The action was approved by the House of Hope Board of Directors and The Rock board in May. The kids, some of whom were street children, have a path through The Rock which begins by becoming part of a Christian family.

Here they are loved, discipled, educated and equipped with skills preparing them for a productive life.

When they are ready to “leave the nest,” they have Rock resources available to: 1) Receive vocational training; 2) Take advantage of university scholarships for those who qualify; 3) Complete “Doing Business God’s Way” training with a potential for a no interest business incubation loan, and; 4) Enjoy lifelong fellowship with Rock participants.
